File Sharing Does Not Damage Artists.. FFS, Lily Allen
What the hell is wrong with people? File sharing doesn’t hurt music artists, its free promotion, artists should be happy people think their music is good enough to download and listen to. EVERYONE downloads music, but that doesn’t make them a criminal, unless you are asking a CEO on a six-figure yearly salary of a record label.
This point has been reiterated about 1000 times now, but I will reiterate it again because some people aren’t getting it through their thick skulls it seems. The only reason an artist would need to fear file sharing is if they are afraid the music that they have released isn’t very good.
Lily Allen may get to tour different countries and she might sell albums that appeal to stuck up 15 year old teenagers with bleached hair who aspire to grow up and be sluts just like Lily Allen; but that doesn’t mean she has talent. Brokencyde have more talent than Lily Allen, and they absolutely suck big time. I felt sick making that correlation, let alone mentioning Brokencyde and Lily Allen in the same sentence.
Why does Lily Allen even care? I bet she makes close to nothing on her CD and digital music sales. If anything, I’m willing to bet that she’s been paid under the table by her label or by the RIAA to publicly make a stand against file sharing. Search Lily Allen’s computer, I bet there are a few songs she’s downloaded off the Internet for free.
I believe artists with talent, and artists who care about their fans deserve to make money from their music. I could list a whole bunch of artists who aren’t signed, but would be happy to just hear their music listened to and appreciated by thousands of people, even if they don’t make a cent. Just having a fanbase is more than enough to succeed.
Lily Allen has no talent, anyone can write a song about giving some dude a head job. She has no brain and can’t even spell correctly. Have you seen her grammar? I swear the educational standards when Lily Allen went to school must have been pretty low, if she even attended school.
Capitalise your damn I’s, bitch; and get off the drugs, they’ve toasted that minuscule brain in that hollow head of yours. Since when do people listen to drug addicts anyway?
If people download your music for free, it doesn’t matter. Sure people can pirate your music, but they can’t pirate attendance to one of your concerts. People will always download music, but attending a concert and buying merchandise could never be replaced by the Internet.
Here is a bit of trivia for you: Lily Allen believes people who use file sharing to obtain and share music should have their connections disconnected after 3 strikes. But as TechDirt pointed out, when she was trying to get known she made two mix tapes with other peoples songs on them and distributed them for free.
Distributing other music artists music for free and without permission for publicity purposes seems kind of illegal to me and very contradictory of her, don’t you think?

Well, that pretty much invalidates all those ‘real musicians’ your tagline boasts about, right there. And I’m not even a fan of the girl.

Way to pick on this guys grammar. I couldn’t see any issues with it, I didn’t struggle to read it at all. I think he enunciated it quite fine.
I think for something to be considered bad grammar it needs to lack a few commas and full stops for it to be considered that.
I understood it quite fine. And who cares about the misogyny, it’s true. She’s a dirty slut. I even read something where she called herself a “gobby bitch”. If someone can call themselves that, what kind of standard is she setting for her fans.
15 year olds could only listen to this kind of music because they’re not mature enough to understand nor develop good music taste.
Some of Lily Allen’s lyrics are the most vile sounding ever. That song that’s played on the radio about some guy she gives head to but can’t make her cum. She disguises it quite well, but what the fuck? Who writes shit like that? A selfish slut with no knowledge of the recording industry, that’s who.
There are not enough names in the dictionary (most likely urban dictionary) to call Lil Allen with.
You really shouldn’t get on her case about grammar and spelling until you fix “download and listen too”, “fear file sharing is if their hiding the fact” and “other peoples music”.
